The story follows Debika, who lives in Stavanger with her husband, Chuba's son Anirudtha, and their 5-month-old daughter, Chuchi. Going to take Shubha and Shuchi on their latest visit, the Chatterjees are informed that they are unfit to care for their children, so Debika decides to sue the government and reinstate custody of her children.
